The school was already being run in the villagem, with NO aid coming from the Govt. Expenses were mounting, and hence there was a need to raise adequate funding. It was therefore decided to hold a GT of all Baparde villagers staying in Mumbai.
A theatre show of a humorous Malwani drama “Gele Bhajanak Ani Pochale Lagnak” was arranged on 14th Oct. 2018 at Damodar Hall at Parel-Mumbai. All villagers actively participated and helped in generating net Rs. 1.5 L, which was handed over to the School Chairman.
This function was blessed by gracious presence of eminent Doctors viz. (Padmashri) Indira Hinduja, Shailesh Raina, Nilesh Doctor, Prerana Gomes, and Shrirang Sangalikar.
On this occasion, Dr Suhas Rane proposed a novel idea to the Augustus Gathering about generating a special Fund of Rs. 50 L (to be kept as an FD, to generate regular interest to meet the expenses). This amount would be generated from individual contributions of Rs. 1L and above, and such supporters would be specially honoured as Laksh-Vedhi Doners. This was immediately supported by our following 2 colleagues, who spontaneously donated Rs. 1 L each
