Background:
Though the Indian Parliament has granted the Right to Education (RTE) to all Indian children, it has still remained a distance dream to many poor families, especially in the rural parts of Maharashtra.
The main reasons being:
- Maharashtra Govt. has stopped financial grants to any new schools that opened after 2011.
- Rural BPL poor families are unable to afford school fees for their wards.
- Private sector has no interest in running such remote schools (being commercially unviable).
Thus, the secondary education in rural parts of Maharashtra is left to the mercy of only social workers, philanthropists and NGOs.
Despite such lack of support from the Govt. agencies, we have to generate funds to run our High-School for Rural Poor Students in a remote village of Maharashtra’s Konkan Region.
Our Initiative :
The village Baparde – is a tiny remote rural place, 500Kms away from Mumbai, on the way to Goa. Located along coastal Konkanpart of Maharashtra, Baparde has a population of around 2000 (with overall student strength of 200).
For decades, education is a low priority subject, than earning their daily bread. In the absence of nearby High-school facility, if any kid wishes to pursue secondary education, he/she is forced to take a daily walk of nearly 10 KMs to nearby bigger village. Realizing this agony in our own village, we created an educational institute PKSVM, with the noble aim of “providing FREE Secondary education to this village kids up to SSC level”.

We have listed needy students from diff. classes of our school. Normally, we incur Rs. 10,000 per year per student. However, you may bear his/her part expenses, as follows:
Rs. 3,000 for Std. 8th & 9th Student
Rs 5,000 for Std. 10th Student
Once adopted, our school would keep you posted on the annual progress of the student
